Our Story

AWA was founded in 2016 to address the severe challenges faced by people with albinism in Cameroon. Legally recognised in 2019, our journey has been one of grassroots commitment to dignity and inclusion.

We exist because of the persistent discrimination, limited healthcare access, and educational barriers that people with albinism face daily. Our story is rooted in the resilience of the Cameroonian albinism community.
