Association for the Welfare of Albinos (AWA). Empowering Lives, Ending Stigma.

Who We Are

The Association for the Welfare of Albinos (AWA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons with albinism and other vulnerable groups. Founded in 2016 and legally recognized in 2019, we work to combat discrimination, promote inclusion, and provide the tools needed for independence and dignity.

Our Vision

A world where no one is judged by their skin color, where persons with albinism enjoy equal rights, opportunities, and respect in all aspects of life.

Our Mission

We empower persons with albinism through:

  • ✔ Education & Mentorship – Scholarships, school supplies, and career guidance.
  • ✔ Skills Training – Tailoring, hairdressing, soap-making, and sustainable farming.
  • ✔ Healthcare Access – Dermatological care, vision support, and UV-safe spaces.
  • ✔ Advocacy & Awareness – Fighting myths, stigma, and policy barriers.
  • ✔ Economic Inclusion – Job placements and small business support.

Our Impact

Since our founding, AWA has:

  • Trained 100+ individuals in income-generating skills.
  • Supported 50+ students with education funding.
  • Advocated for policy changes to protect albinos’ rights.
  • Create temporary safe community spaces for learning and work.
